A single, focused commitment to keeping students in college when it matters most.
GPS Event Foundation has a single, focused mission: to provide critical gap funding for students navigating college so financial barriers don't stand in the way of their success.
Our approach treats urgency as the intervention itself. While traditional aid can take weeks or months, GPS delivers funds within 3 to 5 days because a financial shock doesn't wait for a committee meeting. This positions GPS not as a scholarship alternative, but as an emergency response system for student persistence.
We address the critical moment, not the total cost. Our $1,000 to $3,000 grants are tied directly to specific barriers such as car repair, textbooks, rent gaps, and depleted meal plans so students stay enrolled long enough to benefit from traditional financial aid. This frames GPS as the bridge, not the destination.
We don't wait for students to find us; we meet them where they are. Through partnerships with Lawrence High School college counselors, Early College staff, and local community organizations, we identify at-risk students before they stop out. This community-embedded model builds trust and catches students at the exact breaking point.
Our students come from one of Massachusetts' most resilient communities. They've earned their place in college. We make sure they stay there.
