How do you ensure funds are used appropriately?

GPS verifies each request and directs funds either to student accounts (such as campus-based systems like Jumbo Cards) or approved vendors such as bookstores, landlords, and auto repair shops, ensuring accountability and timely support.

How quickly are funds distributed?

Typically within 3 to 5 days, recognizing that urgency is critical to preventing disruption.

Who is eligible?

Students from Lawrence or the Merrimack Valley
Currently enrolled or committed to a college or university, or at risk of stopping out
Facing a documented, short-term financial barrier

Why micro-grants instead of larger scholarships?

Scholarships address long-term affordability. GPS addresses immediate financial barriers. Without intervention at the critical moment, students may not persist long enough to benefit from traditional aid.
